Simple All Beef Patty

Pan-frying has nothing homemade Air Fryer hamburger patties! Even frozen patties turn out tasty with just a little extra cook time!

BEEF Just like our favorite hamburger recipe, we like to use fresh ground beef. An 80/20 blend has the right amount of fat that keeps the patties juicy without too much grease runoff.

SEASONING Add in salt & pepper with a dash of onion and garlic powder. Fresh onion and garlic don’t have enough time to cook so we opt for powders in this recipe.

BBQ SAUCE is optional but it helps with caramelization and tastes great. We prefer homemade barbecue sauce.

How To Air Fry Hamburgers

Air Fryer hamburgers are super easy and quick to make!

  1. Combine all of the ingredients and form into 4 equally sized patties!

PRO TIP: For perfectly evenly cooked burgers press your thumb into the center of each patty so it doesn’t swell in the center during cooking.

  1. Put prepared hamburger patties in a single layer in the Air Fryer basket. Cook according to the recipe below, about 12 minutes depending on thickness.
  2. Top with cheese if desired, cook 1 more minute before serving.

Got Fries?

If you’d like to serve air fryer french fries with your burgers, cook the fries first and set them aside. Once the burgers have cooked, add the fries back to the basket and cook at 400°F for about 3-4 minutes while you top your burger. Alternatively, oven fries are great served with these burgers.

Toppings

Make a DIY burger bar by arranging lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and pickles on a serving platter so everyone can help themselves!

  • Zesty: Jalapenos, green chilies, sauerkraut, Chipotle Aioli or a Homemade Garlic Aioli
  • Savory: Roasted red bell peppers, fried egg (so good!), bacon, sautéed or air fried mushrooms

Tips Perfect Hamburger Patties

  • Ensure you use meat with a little bit of fat (80/20) so the burgers stay moist.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check the thickest part of a patty (160°F).
  • Appliances can vary, check your burgers early to ensure they don’t overcook.
  • Frozen burger patties can be cooked in the air fryer, you’ll need to add about 5 minutes.
  • The hamburgers can be frozen with parchment paper between each patty. They’ll keep about a month in the freezer.
